I've got a Quad G5, late model.

We had Apple build it with a NVIDIA 256MB GeForce 7800 GT - one of the
three graphics cards that the link above comes up with, but the one
that's out of stock.

The result is a Mac that's as snappy as a Mac Plus running System 6.  It
seems to be pretty good at the whole `playing video' thing - I've had
stupid numbers of QuickTime videos playing at once (just for a laugh,
really).

I've no idea how that graphics card compares to any other, but the
prices they're asking for any of the three listed at the above url seem
to be a bit OTT compared to what it cost to have the 7800GT installed as
a build to order option.

As a general rule of thumb, I take the view that the more RAM the
better, so of the two Radeon cards listed, I'd go for the 512MB one:
