The MB that is. Nice it is too. Being a refurb I was expecting there to
be a few odd marks, and there is on the casing, but not that you'd
notice. It does have a new battery though - only 2 cycles recorded.
Two negative comments - they could at least have put an updated version
of 10.5 on it - it came as 10.5.0! And, why, oh why, did they have to
change the bloody mini-DVI socket? Having the old iBook here, I wasn't
too worried about the missing adapters, as I was going to use the ones
off the iBook - no such luck, it's a bloody different connector. Now
I'll have to troubloe of finding the right flippin' thing to do the job.
If I'd know this, I'd have ordered one off the Store at the same time.
First impressions. It's fast enough for sure, and I do like the glossy
screen, despite past comments to the contrary (using it outside may tell
more though). I'm waiting for my FW800toFW400 adapter lead to arrive, so
having to run my big external drives off USB 2.0 for now. However, I've
just run iPhoto off one of these, and it's still much quicker than on
the G5 with FW800, even opening and editing 10MP RAW images.
I is a happy bunny... so far!
