I've just been sent a nice Epson Stylus Photo R800, surplus to someone
else's requirements.
And I downloaded the current software from Epson, installed the driver,
and after a quick reboot and repair permissions, tried firing up Printer
Setup Utility to set up the new printer, which is plugged in via
Firewire.
I can see the Epson printer in the printer browser, with the name `E'.
I can select it, select Epson as the maker, and view a big long list of
Gimp-print drivers but no Epson driver at all.
Does anyone have a clue about this one? The installer said it had done
its job but I can't see any sign of an Epson printer driver at all in
Printer Setup Utility, but lots of signs of what looks like the printer
drivers having been installed in
/Library/Printers/Epson/
(e.g., I have just spied this file:
/Library/Printers/Epson/APF/Stylus Photo R800.prm)
4G5, MacOS X 10.4.11.
