If all of Sherm's X-code stuff confuses your brain there is an AppleScript
solution that doesn't make you learn the details of AppleScript. There is
an example, with source, in:

<ftp://ftp.macnauchtan.com/Software/LineEnds/FixEndsFolder.sit>

It's actually some C drivel that changes line ends in text files but it
could just as well have been a perl executable with a #! line at the top.
It might now work properly for an application that is running when the
drag occurs.
