Why is Ebay a nightmare for Opera?

by The New Guy <replytogroup@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 13, 2007 at 01:12 AM

Exactly what is Ebay doing that makes Opera 9.24 take so long to load
a page? Why is it, if Javascript is enabled, some pages can take 5 or
10 times longer to load than if its disabled? Ebay is one of the most
commonly visited sites on the net. Its time to get it right because
if Ebay is giving Opera problems, there must be many others that do as
well. Right now the spinning beach ball is busy, CPU usage for Opera
is 80-90% on my 1gb ram, 1.25ghz Mini and the computer freezes from
time to time. When I use Firefox none of this happens. But Firefox
is such a lousy browser compared to Opera! I have noticed of course
that when I disable Javascript in Firefox pages load much faster than
when its enabled but nothing like the stagnation of Opera.
