Opera and eBay listings - eBay admits it is at fault!

by Howard <ukrc@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 20, 2007 at 03:59 AM

Quote: "The browser sup****t page does not encourage people to use
Opera. That is because we do not explicitly test with Opera as part of
our release testing. Lack of testing can increase risk of problems
showing up. To the extent that Opera follows modern web browser
standaards (html, css, javascript) it should work just fine.

I expected a fix to be out there in July for the listing problem. I
just checked and you are correct, Opera is still broken for creating
listings. It is broken because eBay is feeding Opera Css that is NOT
in compliance with modern web standards but just happens to work with
IE and Firefox. We should NOT be doing this. I'll go back and pursue
why the change to fix this did not make it to production."
