halftone, gray-scale and color reflective originals up to legal or A4
format. With the included transparency module, you can scan transparent
originals up to 8" x 10" as well. The StudioScan II is a one pass 30-bit
color scanner which has a true resolution of 400x800 dots per inch,
which can interpolate resolutions as high as 2400dpi, and has a rated
scanning speed of 10 milliseconds per line for color scans. The image
sensor is a linear array CCD with a daylight fluorescent light (spare
bulb included). Up-to-date drivers for this scanner can be downloaded
free at www.scanner-drivers.com/companies/50.htm and StudioScan
software and FotoLook drivers at
www.agfa.com/digicam_scanner_drivers/scanner/studioscan/
This StudioScan IIsi includes a built-in SCSI interface (25-50 pin)
which makes it easy to connect the scanner to your Macintosh or PC. The
scanner was used only occasionally in a home environment and is in
excellent working condition and includes the scanner body, transparency
module, owner's and user's guides, FotoLook software (two 3 1/2"
Macintosh foppy disks), OmniPage Direct OCR software (two 3 1/2"
Macintosh disks), FotoTune Light software (two 3 1/2" Macintosh disks),
FotoSnap software (one 3 1/2" Macintosh disk), Agfa Scanner FotoFlavor
CD, 3-pin 110V power cord, 25-50 pin SCSI cable, an external 50-pin SCSI
terminator, and a replacement fluorescent bulb. They are packaged in the
two original boxes, one for the scanner body and the other for the
transparency module. The original cost of the StudioScan IIsi was $999,
a lot of money back in 1996. I have been using it happily since then
until cir***stances forced me to give up my SCSI peripherals in favor of
USB and FireWire connections. If you can use a SCSI scanner, this one
will serve you well for many more years. It can be yours for $45 plus
****pping.
