best connection method to exchange

by =?Utf-8?B?S0Jpbmc=?= <KBing@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 31, 2006 at 09:52 PM

Which is better to configure over a WAN for Outlook 2001 (mac) to Exchange:
a) default setup
b) use offline folders

When using default - does the connection to Exchange stay continously
connected? I would assume that creates a lot of network traffic if there
are
many clients.

When using offline folders - does Outlook only connect on a certain time
frame then synch the offline folders? Thus saving network bandwidth?

I can't find these answers in any documentation or sup****t articles I've
found so far...thanks in advance.
