I think I might have an answer for you, I just had the same problem and the
lady at linksys helped me....
open your router settings,
go to wireless security, change your encryption to wpa personal, enter an
alphanumeric sequence about 10-21 characters long and save your changes...
in windows vista:
start-->control panel--->network and sharing center--->manage wireless
networks.(left side of window) delete all preffered networks.
back in the network and sharing center, click connect to a network.
click on your wireless network and enter your passphrase. It worked right
off the bat for me, I hope it does for you as well!!! Good luck!!!!
