I had the same problem and solved it by unencrypting the router. For 
some reason Windows XP on my Macpro laptop cannot connect to the router 
when it is encrypted. But I  am still on Tiger OS with that system. It 
says that I am connected when I use wireless, but it does not ask for 
the password and it cannot find the server.

I have Leopard on my Macpro Quad at work, and Bootcamp connects well to 
the Internet via the normal Ethernet connection.
