cannot overcome errors with MSI.scan and MSXML in Windows XP SP2

by =?Utf-8?B?U1BTdGV2bw==?= <SPStevo@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 3, 2007 at 11:29 PM

Hello,

HP has quite an installation process for software related to their latest
series of printers. I purchased a C8180 and have tried diligently to
install
the software for it. If you click to the following HP sup****t article,
you
will notice a number of different (escalating) remedy options. The
installation problem relates to MSI.scan and does not reference .NET
(however
I have gone throught the steps and removed all .NET stuff on the XP
desktop.

I've made it all the way through to Solution 3, Step 7, but when
attempting
to install the MSXML (v4.0 I believe), I run into an error with a registry

key. HP is quite unwilling to help me with it. If I can actually get
MSXML
properly installed/reinstalled, I believe I may be able to get things
working
properly again. Please let me know if you happen to have any ideas in
this
regard.

Best,

Steve
