Try using the domain name "<hostname>.local" when you specify which
Windows
machine to log into. I have been able to verify this to be the case on
Mac
OS X 10.4 as Remote Desktop client, logging into both a Windows XP Pro SP3
and Windows Vista Business SP1 RDC servers.
It seems to me that the Mac client doesn't like using Windows SMB host
names... but instead, prefers using Bonjour to locate servers, or host
names
that can be obtained from DNS. In my case, adding Bonjour to Windows may
have assisted in the login process (I have Bonjour installed on both
Windows
systems), but I am not willing to change my Windows installations to
verify
this point (sorry!).
Hope this helps.
