Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I have a mac and a windows xp pro desktop all connected to a home wireless
router through DHCP. I can connect to the XP machine using RDC for mac
using IP address but not computer name. Any help would be appreciated.
Could it be a setting on my mac I am missing?
The xp machine is set to accept remote desktop connections and all
firewalls are turned off. The xp machine user accounts all have passwords.
