If you haven't already, drag the installer out of the .dmg image and run 
it from your Desktop.

If that doesn't work then I suggest you subscribe to the 
microsoft.public.mac.office newsgroup (or just the "Office" newsgroup in 
officeformac.com) where several suggestions have been given.
