Hello Mike:
I also recently purchased a MacBook OS X 10.5 and am unable to access my
hotmail account through Safari. Previously, accessed at Library, with
their
Windows machines. Now, I take MacBook to library to use the WiFi hotspot
and
hotmail.com gives me the same run-around. Was advised the "Classic"
version
was compatible. Will see it it 'clears up', or somehow my fault <grin>

my primary email account, but I have recently had problems accessing my
email from my older Hotmail account. When I first got this computer I had
no problem using Safari to got to the Windows Live sign in page and then,
after signing in, accessing and using Hotmail. At that point, I had the
Windows Live page set to remember my name but not my password. After
changing that setting to remember my password, I have had crazy problems
signing in, not only from my Mac, but also from a Windows Mobile-based
cell phone with web access.

Essentially, using the Mac, when I
attempt to access the page "mail.live.com", The browser shows what seems
to be an attempt to open the page, clears the old page, then freezes,
endlessly repeating a sequence of three (I think) page names that seem to
be the log on attempt. The page never connects.

Like I said, I
started having problems almost simultaneously with
accessing Hotmail with my phone. I don't know whether these could be
related unless the problem is server side, but I don't know whether it had
anything to do with me or my resetting the sign in password thing, but they
happened together.

I just wanted to know whether this has anything
to do with me or my Mac, but this seemed like a good place to ask. Thanks
in advance for anything anyone might know and share.

- Mike
