Don't want Word to open @ startup

by RedCandy@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Feb 1, 2008 at 02:41 PM

Hi and help! I'm new to Mac and know my way around PC very well, however..I
would like to know how to change preferences for the various programs since
the usual "preferences" within the programs don't let me do what I want to
do. In setting a "default" do***ent type in Mac Word I somehow changed a
setting that now causes Word to open at startup which I don't want. I'm
wasting a lot of time exploring around in this MacBook and not finding the
correct place to go.
What would be synonymous with "Control Panel", "msconfig",Windows
Explorer, regedit, my computer, or right clicking on a program to get
properties, etc?

My 2cents...Mac is not "intuitive" IMHO.. :o)
