Middle Click with Intellipoint Macintosh

I use a Microsoft Trackball Explorer (still the best single trackball ever 
made in my opinion, and I can't believe Microsoft stopped making them, and

that i only have 2 of them) and am using Microsoft Intellipoint software
to 
control my mouse and set the function of all the buttons. Well I am using 
Apple Color, and to use Apple Color it requires a middle mouse button, a 
middle or third click, and there is no setting for this in Microsoft 
Intellipoint, though you can do it in the Wacom Control panel for a Wacom 
tablet. Without this functionality my 2 Microsoft mice become useless to
me. 
Is there any way to make the Intellipoint software do a 3rd button click 
(There is no keyboard shortcut for the functionality in Color) or do I
need 
to consider a different mouse bran which does support third click?
