I downloaded and tried to install the Microsoft Handheld Sync for
Entourage X. (I want to sync the tasks from Entourage to my palm
based Treo 650.) I have already installed the Palm desktop/hotsync
manager.
I started the installer and a window/dialog opened that said:
Installing
Items remaining to be installed: 9
Searching: Macintosh HD
It paused for a while and then another window/dialog opened with the
error message:
The installation failed because Microsoft Component Plugin was not
found.
I hit OK (the only option from that window) and the next message was:
An error occurred that prevented the installation from completing.
I have searched for help on "Microsoft Component Plugin was not
found", but I have not found anything relevant to my problem.
I am running Mac OS X version 10.4.8 and have MS office version 11.3
(at least thats the rev shown in Word) installed on my Mac PowerBook.
Any help would be appreciated.
