Re: Install of SP1 always causes setup assistant to start

Try this fix, first, re****ted by another poster to solve this problem. 
Pakmule, try it too.

move these two files to the trash:
[username]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office
2008 Settings.plist

/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist

then start an app - put in serial number.
after that it starts the MS update again and then it should work

If that works, can you save the invalid plist files somewhere--MS might 
want them to help prevent the problem occurring in the future.
