I needed to remove and re-installed Office 2004 recently. Used the "Remove
Office" tool and then installed from the disc. It loaded ver 11.0 just
fine, and at the end of the installation process, I selected the download
updates option and that hangs up trying to install Autoupdater 1.1.2. The
package downloads but the installation goes into a loop with the
"Searching Macintosh HD" dialog box. After a long but unsuccessful trip to
the Genius Bar, I removed everything and installed again using all the
defaults ... same problem!
I noticed that 1.1.2 is mostly a language sup****t upgrade, so downloaded
the oldest Office update I could find (11.3.5) and it had a similar error
"can't find the correct version to update" (or something to that effect).
The 11.0 software runs okay but I'd really like to get it up to date.
Is there anywhere I can download older updates (like 11.1 or 11.2)? Better
yet, any way to download a "quantum leap" to upgrade all the way to 11.4 in
one go??
