Uh--not sure your understanding is correct.

If you have the Student Teacher version of Office X, it comes with 3 
license numbers.  Assuming each computer uses a different license 
number, then it can be running on 3 computers at the same time.

The Standard version comes with one license number--it can only be 
running on one computer at a time, and you are only supposed to install 
it on a desktop and laptop belonging to the same person (but they can't 
be running at the same time).
