Don't think so. As you've found, they are all added to the same file.
You can request this by using Help | Send Feedback in Word, it would be
a nice feature to have the recording automatically stop playback at a
certain point.
You could ex****t the audio file and then cut it up the same way you
might mess with any sound file, but then it would lose the connection
with the Word file.

I intend the audio notes to be in. (The audio notes are meant for the
segments later, which I added in after that segment.)
