There are one or two "issues" with 12.1.0 right now {sigh}.
The error message means "Spotlight did not FIND the components of Office
2008 that it was looking for."
The entire "Microsoft Office 2008" folder needs to be on the boot
partition, in the Applications folder. If there are any versions archived
to a different drive by a backup, you may wish to disconnect that drive
while you run the update.
Please advise if that helps.
> Not sure what Geoffrey is looking for here, but I'm going to take
advantage of this blank space. I just downloaded SP1 for Office 2008
12.0.1 and tried to install it. When it finds my HD volume it has an
exclamation point next to it along with the following text (below):
>
> You cannot install Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.0.1 Update on this
volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not
found on this volume.

> Uhhh, duh...the version of the software is on my HD...so what gives?
Once more MAC BDU you have disappointed me. For now, I'll just stick with
MS-Office 2007 on Parallels until someone gets your folks act together a
little bit better...
