Office SP1 - Excel file now refuses to open - what's up??????

The very first excel file (.xls) I tried to open, refuses to, since
updating to SP1 yesterday...

Is anyone else having this problem???

I am about ready to throw Office 2008 away...  It has been a
nightmare...
