Hi Folks -
Just to put things into perspective - although I appreciate your
frustration:
I'm running PPt 11.3.5 (Office 11.4.1) in Tiger (10.4.11) on a 15" MBP
2.4,
4GB with absolutely no such problems. I sincerely don't believe the
problem
is with PPt - it's been out there to long with no similar re****ts.
The first suggestion I'd make is that you go to the Apple site, get the
10.4.11 COMBO Updater & apply that (even f you're already at that build)
as
well as any updates to other Apple software that haven't yet been applied.
Also, check System Profiler to see which actual Model Identifier is
indicated in the Hardware Overview. If it's 2.1 or 1.1 scour the same
Apple
downloads list for any applicable firmware & graphics updates. There have
been quite a few issues with MBP graphics. BTW - The 2.4 processor doesn't
mean it's the "latest hardware". There have been several revisions of MBP
with 2.4's (the "latest" MBPs are equipped with 2.5 & 2.6) so any given
2.4
could have been in the pipeline for a year or so:-) The Model Identifier
will tell for sure. Even if it's a 3.1 you'll probably need at least one
of
the firmware updates. You'll find it all here:
http://www.apple.com/sup****t/downloads/index.html
Make sure to run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions & restart the Mac
after applying any updates. If you continue to have problems post back
with
specifics & perhaps there's more someone can offer.
Also, If you do upgrade to Leopard you might want to consider staying at
the
base installation of 10.5.0 - the 10.5.2 update seems to be breaking a
number of things for a lot of people - not just re Office. I'm holding off
to see if 10.5.3 gets things back on an even keel.
