Powerpoint is very slow -> HELP!!

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

Help, I'm working on simple 60slide Presentation and Powerpoint 2008 on
Leopard runs really really slow... for e.g.: I typ a word and about
2-3secondes after I typed it on the keyboard the word appears on the
screen... What can I do?
