Why these dotted vertical lines?

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I just made a second worksheet in a workbook, and the new worksheet has
dotted verical line every few inches that does not exist in the first
worksheet. why? and how to rid it? thanks
