Re: Print Preview gone in Excel 2008?

Hi Phillip;

Then it's obvious that - like many others - you've made your decision
without having learned to use the new features. Everything you mention can
be done quite simply in Page Layout View if you'd bother to display the
Ruler (View menu or add a stroke to toggle it). And, unlike the old Print
Preview you aren't restricted to making those changes only. You can select
&
reformat cells, columns & rows, edit the sheet content as well as any
other
changes you can make in Normal View... Not to mention the fact that you
can
readily switch from one sheet to another if necessary. It's actually a
more
functional, more elegant Print Preview than Print Preview.

Also, in Normal View with Page Breaks displayed you can drag the Page
Break
indicator lines to make adjustments.

I don't know what you find "complex" about the Toolbox. The Page Setup
features included there are identical to those in Page Setup itself.
Additionally you can click the Margins button or the Print Titles button
to
go directly to those pages in Page Setup - which is identical to what Page
Setup has been for some time. Double-Clicking the Ruler or the periphery
of
a page while in Page Layout View will also take you to Page Setup.

Do yourself a huge favor & come to be familiar with the new features
rather
than bemoaning the fact that they're different than what you're used to. I
think the designers of that mode should be applauded - they apparently
*have* used the old mode & realized just how ***bersome it was. There's
plenty worthy of criticism in XL 2008 but the lack of Print Preview is
most
definitely not in the mix.
