sorting cells with formulas

by philimd@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Oct 2, 2008 at 04:47 PM

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have a column with numerical results based formulas. (grades on school
work). In the next row, I manually enter a grade (A, B, C, D etc); When I
try to sort by the formula results, that row does not change. The row next
to it (the A, B, C, etc) changes, just as though the formula column has
been sorted, but as above, the numbers do not change. I tried the same
sheet on multiple versions of excel (2004 and 8 for Mac, and also a windows
version), but still, no luck. I thought that perhaps the file itself was
corrupt, so I did it from scratch, but still no luck. I have formatted the
formula results as a number or text, but still doesn't work. Any ideas???

Thanks
