The open white cross is the normal "select a cell" cursor. To change the
row
height (or column width) move the cursor to the edge of the sheet to the
row
numbers or column names. The cursor should change shape and allow you to
change widths and heights. If not, the sheet may be protected, and will
have
to be unprotected first.
