Diane,
The .DS_Store file is an Apple-created and Apple-maintained file. In
fact, I'm pretty sure Apple keeps the exact format of these files a
secret from software developers such as Microsoft - so I don't think
Microsoft would have a very easy time adding data to them without
causing problems for Apple!
So I am pretty sure deleting the .DS_Store file will only affect
*Finder* window properties. It will not have an effect on Microsoft
Entourage windows.
