Is Office 2008 Home and Student not a misnomer. I am a tertiary student
and my University runs an Exchange email server but also offers Outlook
Web Access.
My Windows counterparts have no problems accessing their exchange emails
through Microsoft Office Outlook, but alas I cannot access my Exchange
email through Entourage 2004.
When Office 2008 came out I was expecting to be able to access my Exchange
email now that Entourage was going to be fully compatible with Exchange.
But the problem for me is that Office 2008 Home and Student does not offer
Exchange compatibility (or at least not the kind that I need). I am a
student and I am eligible for the Home and Student edition but I will need
to pay more for the full version of Office 2008 (Standard) to have proper
Exchange compatibility.
This is a rather unfair anomaly; while I would rightly be able to purchase
Office 2008 Home and Student, my main reason for purchasing this new
version of Office was the Exchange compatibility but I'm not paying for
standard when I can get the student version!
Microsoft, at the very least, should offer tertiary students (like me)
some sort of Entourage upgrade or plugin to provide Exchange compatibility
for those students (eligible for Office Home and Student) but who also need
proper Exchange sup****t.
