Hotmail won't send/Receive since SP1

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

I updated to Office 2008 for MAC SP1 and now my hotmail account will not
send/receive. I get an error message that says "quit and restart
Entourage. If this problem continues you might need to verify and rebuild
the Entourage database.

I have verified and rebuilt the database several times, but it doesn't fix
the problem. I've also reinstalled the software to try to revert to the old
version of the software, but Entourage will no longer work because the
identity has been updated to work with SP1.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this would be much appreciated!
