SOLUTION - it worked for me and may work for you :)
I have a netgear router dg834gt
mac for messenger stopped working when I updated firmware.
1.02.04 is the last released firmware that enables messenger for mac to
work.
all newer versions up to 1.02.14 as of today, stop messenger for mac from
logging in.
Prior to this, I tried all the usual troubleshooting such as opening
****ts, lowercase passwords, verifying my account on a windows pc,
different network etc, but the only constant I found was my router.
Strangely though, messenger on my windows pc's will log in no problem with
any firmware version loaded. For this reason, I assume that the problem
with the firmware is microsoft's fault and not netgear??
So now I have it working, please can we have a fully featured messenger
for mac with video conferencing, ****ges and all the other stuff that as a
windows user i've had for years?
I know its a microsoft product and a free download but theres a lot of
people out there who own macs and windows based pcs and now office for mac
is doing well, there must be a fair amount of cash flowing in. Please don't
take the 'lets ignore mac users' line and get it going!
