Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

When I put in my correct password and email address, it says "Sign in to
Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may
not be connected to the Internet." I am 100% positive i'm connected to the
internet, and I have already tried re-downloading messenger from this site
back onto my computer, but it keeps saying the same thing. Am I doing
something wrong, or am I missing something? Please respond, it's been going
on for about 2 weeks!
