When I attempt to open IE 7.0 on a Windows XP SP2 machine the IE 7.0 window
opens but it continues to display "connecting" in the browser tab. The
content for the website never populates or loads. I have disabled most if
not all security add-ons related to AVG 8.0 and SpyBot and still have the
same problem.
The machine was infected with some kind of spyware but I don't know any
more
specifics about what kind of spyware.
I believe that there must still be some corrupted system files but have
been
unable to determine what my next steps should be. I have read Microsoft
Article 917964 and believe this might be a reasonable next step.
Any help in this regard would be greatly accepted.
