Folders

Not sure if this is the right forum, but... Recently bought a mac, and have
used windows (from 3.0 to xp) for almost 20 yrs.  How in tarnation do you
set up folders, like for do***ents, spreadsheets, pdf's on a mac?  It
dumps
everything into one folder regardless of what it is.
