550 message identified as SPAM 0x800CCC69

by =?Utf-8?B?dGhvbG1lcw==?= <tholmes@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 23, 2008 at 05:17 PM

When I received a spam email I tried to contact the people from which the
email emanated. Using the domain name I found the website and a contact us

button. I copied the email I received and then included the details from
the
email properties. On sending it I got this message:

" An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'spam', Account:
'pop.charter.net',
Server: 'smtp.charter.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Message
identified as SPAM - Please visit http://www.charter.com/postmaster',
****t:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC69"

This all started happening about six months ago, it has happened about six

times now. You would think from reading it, it was generated by the
Charter
server.

I contacted Charter and they say this is a Microsoft problem, Microsoft
says
it is not their problme - a real catch twenty-two.

Charter says this because I can go to their web site, sign in to my mail
account and copy the everything I want to send from Outlook Express, paste
it
into Compose new mail and then send it; it works fine there.

I have checked Microsoft web site for the error 0x800CCC69 however it
refers
to an error about not finding the mail box, error: 0x800CCC69
SMTP_550_MAILBOX_NOT_FOUND, http://sup****t.microsoft.com/kb/873022.

Also mentioned is Zero-Knowledge Systems Inc. firewall. The only firewall
I
have is what came with Windows XP and it is turned off and besides
firewalls
don't stop spam.

I have read many posts on this and other web sites and I have yet to find
out how to stop this, nobody seems to have an answer.

The other funny this is once this happens I will have problems sending a
regular email, even a test email to myself. And to make matters worse, I
left
the message in the outbox and later that day it was sent.

There has to be somebody out there who has solved the problem - where are
you?
