Greetings,
have an Imac with MacOS 9.2.2. It has Internet Explorer 5.1 for mac
installed.
Problem is that recently a browser hijacker has taken over. It is
***.com.
Internet explorer is set to autocomplete the address. You switch that
off,
and
it gets turned right back on. In addition, ***.com will launch if you
pause
when
entering a URL on the address line. It has pop-ups.
This machine accesses the internet with dialup.
How do I get rid of this ?
I have trashed :
mac hd: system folder: Preferences: internet preferences
mac hd: system folder: Preferences: explorer:history.html
mac hd: system folder: Preferences: MS Internet Cache
but that didn't help. It came right back.
any ideas greatly appreciated.
