ELEMENTS in a LISTBOX

HI FOLK,
I'm a new user of MAC. I have a problem with LISTBOX. It seems to be
limited 
to a max 1024 elements.
If I'm right in a windows environment the listbox accept 32.000 elements.
Is there a patch or it's a bug/limitation of Office for MAC?
