Seems as if you have a severe Finder problem...

Try this. Insert the orig. system CD. Select restart and hold down the=20
'C' key until you can see the progress bar begin to move.

At first after the startup on the system CD try this.
Open your preferences folder inside the systemfolder and remove thoese=20
files.
-Finder preferences
-MacOS preferences
-System Proferences
-Web sharing preferences.

close prefs folder and restart. Do hold down the mouse key to eject the=20
CD. If the computer now starts up as it should do, you're lucky. If it=20
still makes trouble, you need to re-install the system.

Again insert the CD, hold down the 'C' key until the progress bar moves=20
and open the installer on the CD. Set the installer to 'standard', but=20
do select 'Install new systemfolder' in the prefs settings in the=20
installer. This will install a new systemfolder and rename the old=20
systemfolder to 'Systemfolder.old'.

After installing the new system, you can manually move any special=20
things that you've installed in the old system and place in the same=20
folders inside the new systemfolder - fx. extra controlpanels,=20
extensions, fonts and more specific prefs files for your apps.

After moving what you need and want to, drag the 'Systemfolder.old' into =

the trash and restart. Now it should work again... Empty the trash.

Note. You might have to re-enter some specific settings and even reg.=20
numbers in some apps, 'cause they don't like to be moved at all. You=20
also may need to re-enter your internet settings again.

HTH. Cheers, Erik Richard
