It was a hardware problem.
After checking all of the DRAM to find it all working flawlessly, I began
to
put back in the 3 SATA drives that I had to remove for my SwiftData200
RAID
setup. They sit in front of the removable fan array (see pic here:
<http://www.barefeats.com/swift.html>
), and to get to the DRAM, they must
be removed.
Everything back together and the freezes occur instantly.
Remove power from the RAID drives. BINGO! Flawless ever since.
TransInternational (manufacturer) has nothing on their site about any
Leopard conflicts - nor any driver or firmware update, but that was the
culprit. I have since replaced the 1TB RAID setup with a 1TB Seagate SATA
in
the "B" bay. It may not be as speedy as a RAID 0 configuration, but I
haven't noticed any glitches in FCS video editing so far.
Just thought I would re****t this and see if anyone else has had similar
experiences. Thanks, folks!
