Well, I'm not sure that SD qualifies as crippleware.  A piece of video
software that only processes 5 seconds of video, for example.  As far as I
know, SD still works in shareware mode, it just has less features, right?

I only use 'crippleware' to refer to products that are unusable until they

are registered, either through severe lack of features or from an
extremely 
limited amount of processing (only a few seconds, a handful of files,
etc).
