You can believe whatever you want.
But you, yourself, told me that I can't do with linux the stuff that I
do everyday on my Mac. I tie multiple applications from multiple vendors
along with open source stuff and command line stuff into one coherent
system to manage my workflow with minimum effort.
I can do some parts like php stuff for site back ends on Linux if I have
to. Not pretty, but doable. But some parts so far are not even doable.
And since a Mac is UNIX and has all the tools available to Linux and
more, I don't see why I would want to settle for the lesser platform.
I'm not broke and I value my time, so Linux doesn't have any worthwhile
advantage on the desktop. It's cheap and works very well for
set-it-and-forget-it rack servers, and that's where I use it.
If linux fits all your needs, then all the power to you. And if it does,
that means you don't have terribly sophisticated needs.
