This week when I booted to XP using Boot Camp in OS 10.5 I got a message
from Windows Update asking if I wanted to install XP service pack 3. I
said
yes and after a while it was downloaded and installed.
After that I noticed an icon in the tool tray telling me that Local Area
Connection Net Cable Not Connected - Marvell Yukon 88E8058 PCI-E Gigibit
E.
I am not sure if I've seen that icon there before but I also noticed that
I
couldn't get internet access via my wireless. (since then something
happened and it appears that I can get internet accesss through the
wireless
althought I still have the error icon). I started looking for info about
compatibility problems with sp3 and bootcamp and I see that Apple says you
have to install an update to Bootcamp before you download XP sp3. The
strange thing is that the update they have on the Apple website is for an
..exe program.
Now having already installed sp3 I'm wondering if Windows will let me roll
back to a point before the sp3 installation and whether I can get back to
where the Apple recommended update will be effective.
