Searching for folders

I just got my new iMac today, took the day off and been playing with
it all day. Not sure if I made a big mistake or not. Maybe it will
seem better in a few days.
One of the disturbing things I've discovered is that Spotlight, that
superdupre finder  I've heard so much about, doesn't find folders! How
is this possible? An OS that has no capability to search for folders!
I guess maybe the thinking is that what you're really looking for is a
file. But what if you have a folder name, not a file name, which is
how I found out that Spotlight doesn't find folders.
Is there any trick, or utility, for Mac that finds a folder? I sure
hope so.
Anyone know of such a thing?
