Question about external SATA drive

by melvin <melvin@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 16, 2008 at 08:16 AM

I was wondering if someone could help me out with this. I bought a
1-terrabyte external hard drive that is actually two 500gb drives in a
single case. It is described as a JBOD subsystem for two 3.5" SATA
drives with USB interface, and claims to be "MAC compatible." But
Leopard's Disk Utility cannot reformat them to Mac Extended format,
they seem to be FAT32 only, and although I can copy video files to the
drives, it will not allow me to copy disk images, Toast images, or .mkv
video files.

Is there any other utility that will allow me to reformat these drives
to be "fully" Mac-compatible? Thanks in advance.
