Yeah, I'm a programmer with 15 years of experience as professional on 
AmigaOS (the start of my career), Windows and Unix (many different 
flavours including hpux, solaris, linux, bsd).

I needed TWO DAYS to build my first carbon program a pair of years 
ago... (A simple program that given a file pat, got with a file browser, 
had to make some file operations on a few files)

The problem obviously was not to use FSRef objects but to FIND those 
functions in the API. The fact the developer do***entation contains 
Cocoa/Carbon AND Java doesn't make this easier... :)

Anyway I agree with Bo about the use of FSRef in a Carbon program, but I 
also agree with SM Ryan that FSRef is a over-complex implementation to 
retain compatibility with an older OS.
