*Your* machine speaks many languages other than plain old ASCII English, 
to say nothing of other people.

You may decide you're not going to feed it anything but ASCII, which is 
fine, but if you ever expect to run this on other people's machines or 
even on your own with more interesting characters, even standard Mac 
characters like the ellipsis, copyright symbol, etc., then you'll need 
Unicode sup****t.

Anyway, CFString is beautifully convenient. No more buffer sizes to worry 
about, no more forgetting a NUL terminator, no more making defensive 
copies, etc.
