The inability to see things that aren't really there isn't blindness,
last time I checked.

That would be Dave. Read it again very carefully and say with a straight
face that it comments on your intelligence. Perhaps you need a refresher
on the difference between intelligence and knowledge?

Dave didn't assert or imply any motivation on your part. You, on the
other hand, straight out told him that he was wrong about his own reason
for doing something, which is well beyond *trying* to assume.

I've listened to your argument. It's rubbish because you're complaining
about things that never happened and responding with functional non
sequiturs. Apparently you don't even realize you're doing it but it's
somehow insulting for anyone to point out to you the clear implication
that you don't correctly understand what you're reading. If you weren't
so egotistical, it might occur to you that maybe, just maybe, you
misread and/or misinferred. But in your world, everyone's wrong except
you.

And that's where you fall down again. I see no such implication in what
he wrote. The fact that you do is your problem. Recognize that and fix
it.

I'll say again: Your response to him, being irrelevant to his point,
implied that you did not understand his point. Following up with a
clarification, as he did, is extremely appropriate. The only one who's
been condescending or insulting in this thread is you.
